FRESH POULTRY

The responsible diet we supply is fresh, natural and balanced, improving your dog’s quality of life. This is why we have worked with our nutrition experts to formulate BELCANDO® MASTERCRAFT recipes on a holistic basis. We use high-quality, minimally processed raw materials with all their natural components as sources of protein, fat and carbohydrate.

In first place of course comes fresh meat, which makes up the „lion’s share“ of our recipes. But dogs do not live on

meat alone, which is why we have selected our plant ingredients such as amaranth, fava beans and chickpeas with the same care.

In addition to these primary nutrient sources we also use specially chosen ingredients that complete the product’s nutrient profile – and that in some cases contain substances that can boost the vitality and well-being of dogs that consume them. As a result – based on a fundamentally holistic approach – we create a dog food that is more than the sum of its parts!

This is what it contains

Chia seeds

Chia (Salvia hispanica) is a type of sage native to Mexico. Chia seeds are an [more] excellent source of essential omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. They also swell significantly, and so have a beneficial effect on digestion and faecal consistency.

Calcareous algae

We have added calcareous algae (Lithothamnium calcareum) to the recipe because fresh meat[more] contains only very small amounts of bone and so fewer minerals. This is mineralised dulse, harvested mainly off the Irish coast. Calcareous algae has various advantages: It contains a total of 72 bulk and trace elements in addition to calcium and phosphorus. The calcium in calcareous algae is also organically bound and so easier for the dog’s body to absorb.

Olive extract

Olives, an important element of the „Mediterranean diet“ which is regarded as very healthy, [more] are rich in natural phenol compounds (secondary plant active substances). The highest concentration is found in the „olive oil lees“, which are produced in addition to oil and solid residues when olives are pressed. The antioxidative effect of this compound is particularly significant; its main action is to support the cardiovascular system.

Krill

We were one of the first manufacturers of dog food to incorporate krill into our recipes.[more] Krill are tiny, shrimp-like crustaceans that form huge swarms in the Antarctic ocean. Krill is rich in the important omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, which are both present in the form of phospholipids and are consequently more bioavailable. Krill also contains large amounts of valuable protein (essential amino acids) and is therefore a useful complement to the amino acid profile of feed.
